Job summary

TrendAI is seeking a Principal Threat Architect to lead research into AI-era threats and to design core detection‑and‑response capabilities for our platform. This senior IC role sits at the intersection of threat research and systems architecture, collaborating across threat intelligence, detection engineering, AI/ML, and platform teams.

You will study emerging threats, prototype defensive approaches, and converge research into durable, production‑grade capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years in cybersecurity with deep threat detection and response.
• Proven track record delivering complex systems from concept to production.
• Hands-on experience architecting scalable security platforms and workflows.
• Familiarity with AI/ML concepts applied to threat detection and response, including AI threats.
• Research/R&D experience with ability to define concrete specs from ambiguity.
• Proficiency in Python and other production languages.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to influence diverse audiences.
• U.S. legal work authorization is required.

Responsibilities

• Research AI-era threats and defensive tech for scalable detection/response.
• Design threat operations architecture integrated with security tooling and data pipelines.
• Prototype and validate defensive approaches; translate research into specs.
• Bridge research to production with cross-functional collaboration.
• Provide principal-level technical leadership on design decisions.
