Qualifications

  • Must have active Secret clearance at hire.
  • Minimum 5 years of professional engineering experience.
  • BS/BE in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience testing and debugging circuit card assemblies and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Hands-on with standard lab tools and measurement equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and BoMs.
  • Effective communication of technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of hardware issues from discovery to resolution.
  • Diagnose and fix complex electrical failures on the production floor.
  • Prepare and present engineering change packages for review boards.
  • Troubleshoot blockers and coordinate rapid corrective actions.
  • Use test equipment to pinpoint root causes and optimize yields.
  • Update drawings, schematics, and documentation for reviews.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and craft Statements of Work (SoWs).
  • Support general electrical engineering activities in production.

Job Description

This position requires onsite work in Tucson, AZ and an active Secret security Clearance. Candidates who do not hold this clearance are not eligible for hire.

Solidus is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team! We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who can rapidly assess challenges, rally cross-functional teams, and execute technical solutions that directly impact our production success.

Day in the Life
  • Take full ownership of hardware issues and manage them from initial discovery to final, successful completion
  • Diagnose and resolve complex electrical failures on the production floor
  • Prepare and present comprehensive engineering change packages to review boards
  • Troubleshoot technical blockers and coordinate rapid corrective actions
  • Utilize a wide range of electronic test equipment and analysis tools to pinpoint root causes
  • Update technical drawings, schematics, and documentation while preparing packages for review boards
  • Evaluate defect and yield data to implement continuous improvement methodologies and reduce recurring failures
  • Work closely with suppliers, author Statements of Work (SoWs), and support general electrical engineering activities across the production environment
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Active Secret clearance is required
  • 5 years of professional engineering experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent degree
  • Proven experience testing and debugging complex circuit card assemblies and/or electro-mechanical systems across digital, analog, RF, or mixed-signal domains
  • Hands-on experience with standard laboratory tools, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, and power supplies
  • Ability to interpret complex schematics, PCB layouts, and Bills of Materials (BoMs)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of effectively conveying technical plans to non-technical audiences
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience supporting production engineering activities involving electrical or mechanical hardware
  • A strong background in designing electronic or electro-optical subsystems, including hands-on experience with circuit design, assembly processes, and fabrication practices
  • Familiarity with industry-standard engineering and analysis tools across electrical design, simulation, and measurement domains
  • Demonstrated experience with subsystem integration, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to work independently or within small teams while providing technical guidance, coordination, and project oversight
