Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Principal Technologist - Resiliency & Availability to lead enterprise resiliency, recovery, and data protection across servers, storage, networking, databases, middleware, platform services, mainframe, and cloud.

You will partner with architects, engineers, technology leaders, and application teams to keep capabilities effective and aligned with business needs and regulatory expectations.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in infrastructure technology, architecture, engineering, platform services, resiliency, data protection, or related fields.
• Broad technical expertise across servers, storage, networks, databases, middleware, cloud, and mainframe.
• Experience developing executive communications, strategy documents, and business cases.
• Ability to influence outcomes and drive changes without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Maintain understanding of resiliency, availability, cyber recovery, disaster recovery, and data protection capabilities.
• Drive adoption of modern resiliency and recovery capabilities.
• Partner with architects, engineers, and application teams to evolve capabilities with changing tech and business needs.
• Identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities across infrastructure domains.
• Create executive presentations, strategy documents, and standards mappings.
• Translate complex capabilities into clear content for executives, auditors, and risk audiences.
• Validate capabilities against recovery objectives and documented requirements.
