The Principal Technical Consultant role requires seasoned experts in information security and related technologies. Successful candidates will support the Security team in Delivery, Business Development, and Practice Development.

Principal Technical Consultants collaborate with diverse teams to meet and exceed client expectations through scoped engagements. They facilitate and lead client engagements remotely, guiding projects toward objectives, troubleshooting issues, and acting as leaders within project teams.

They also support business development activities, qualify client needs, and may engage directly with clients to identify needs, produce, and present proposals. They collaborate across practice areas to develop cross-practice solutions and contribute to service offerings through thought leadership and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

1. Client Delivery
2. Support strategy, roadmap, design, and planning workshops for small to medium service engagements.
3. Execute project objectives, requirements, milestones, and timelines to ensure successful delivery.
4. Create and review project deliverables, and effectively present them to project teams.
5. Understand and support AHEAD’s project lifecycle management activities.

Technical Mastery

1. Proficiency in technical troubleshooting, with the ability to think critically and develop creative solutions.
2. Deep knowledge of scripting, especially PowerShell and/or Python, with troubleshooting skills.
3. Effective communication of technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders.
4. Ability to research and fill technical knowledge gaps.

Business Development

1. Represent service offerings during sales cycles, including scoping and proposal development.
2. Support sales opportunities throughout the process.
3. Lead discovery and visioning workshops to identify cross-practice opportunities.

Practice Development & Thought Leadership

1. Participate in developing and standardizing service offerings.
2. Own or enable multiple service capabilities.
3. Lead and evangelize technology trends and standards.
4. Maintain knowledge of current and future IT trends, technologies, and standards.
5. Mentor and support team members.

Skills Required

• Proficiency with Identity Providers (IdPs), including Active Directory / Entra ID / IAM.
• Knowledge of identity lifecycle management.
• Understanding of Enterprise Architecture and security implications.
• Experience managing project outcomes, timelines, and budgets.
• Leadership and mentorship skills.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with GRC frameworks (NIST, ISO, etc.) and cybersecurity tools.

Qualifications

• Leadership or program director experience.
• At least 10 years of consulting or relevant work experience.
• 3 professional/technical certifications aligned with security services.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort addressing groups virtually.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Leadership presence and experience as a change agent.

The compensation range reflects On-Target Earnings (OTE), including base salary and bonuses, and varies based on experience, qualifications, and location.
