The Epic Technical Program Manager (TPM) will oversee the end-to-end migration and implementation of Epic workloads on Microsoft Azure. The role will serve as the primary technical liaison between Vervint, customer stakeholders, customer technical teams, and cloud and infrastructure partners. This role requires strong experience in healthcare, IT, cloud transformation, and Epic infrastructure planning.

Our values are part of what makes us different - for our employees, clients, and the communities in which we live and work. At Vervint, our purpose is progress, and we are out to improve lives by keeping humanity at the core of every solution.

What You'll Accomplish:

  • Facilitate kickoff and discovery workshops to assess existing Epic infrastructure and current cloud readiness to define a migration strategy tailored to customer's operational needs.

  • Lead the Epic migration strategy, providing technical expertise, strategic guidance, and ensuring alignment between Vervint, Epic, and Azure best practices along with customer expectations.

  • Collaborate with Vervint and customer cloud architects to facilitate the design process of scalable and resilient Epic on Azure cloud infrastructure solution including preparing the cloud foundation and associated landing zones, network, compute, storage, and middleware components.

  • Oversee cloud engineers performing the provisioning and configuration of Azure cloud services and Epic databases and applications.

  • Ensure Epic components are deployed across Azure in adherence to networking and security requirements that enable HIPAA and zero-trust security principles.

  • In collaboration with the client project manager and key stakeholders, manage project timelines, risks, and stakeholder e.g. user expectations.

  • Collaborate with Epic and cloud architects to ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare security frameworks.

  • Coordinate the migration plan and resourcing (client and Vervint people), including testing, validation, go-live, and post go-live operational support.

  • Oversee backlog development of required activities, advising the project manager on appropriate resources and deadlines as necessary.

  • Collaborate with lead architects to ensure functionality, interconnectivity, availability and performance of Epic applications post-migration.

  • Ensure customer readiness by supporting training, documentation, and knowledge transfer for their teams

  • Assist Vervint Practice Managers in defining Epic migration consultant, architect or engineer roles and provide training recommendations.

  • Foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team, and build trust with clients. Align team actions with client goals, de-escalate challenges, and communicate best practices effectively.

  • Communicate and prioritize risks effectively, documenting potential risks during pre-sales and delivery.

  • Proactively lead risk identification and mitigation, establish risk-management protocols, enhance the RAID log template, conduct risk management training, and set up risk management processes.

  • Maintain strong client relationships with clear communication, aligning project goals with client needs, and addressing issues promptly. Foster trust and collaboration by delivering high-quality results and understanding client goals deeply.

What You'll Bring:

  • Familiarity with Epic's application architecture, cloud readiness guidelines and supported configurations for Azure.

  • Understanding of Epic EHR structure, workflows and system architecture.

  • Awareness of Azure cost optimization strategies specific to Epic workloads (e.g., compute sizing, storage planning, and backup strategies).

  • Strong technical acumen in Azure infrastructure, networking, security frameworks, and cloud provisioning - especially as they relate to highly regulated healthcare environments.

  • Exceptional facilitation skills to lead workshops, discovery sessions, and planning engagements with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • A solid understanding of HIPAA, HITRUST, and other healthcare compliance standards, and experience managing secure cloud transitions in accordance with those frameworks.

  • Proven ability to manage and mitigate program risks, lead RAID log processes, and establish proactive risk management protocols.

  • Proven track record of Epic EHR implementations or cloud migrations.

  • Strong familiarity with Azure, IaaS, and PaaS solutions.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust, align diverse teams, and maintain productive relationships across clients, vendors, and internal teams.

  • Experience mentoring and coaching project team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage project backlogs, delegate responsibilities, and deliver high-quality outcomes on time.

  • A strategic mindset and collaborative approach, with the ability to translate client goals into actionable plans while maintaining clarity, momentum, and high performance across engagements.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or related field.

  • At least 8+ years of IT program management experience, with at least 3 years in healthcare IT with EHR implementations and digital transformations.
