Overview

The Program Management Director is pivotal in our organization, responsible for building and running the global Program Management Office (PMO) for professional services engagements. This role involves creating the Center of Excellence (COE) for Project and Program Governance. Rackspace seeks exceptional talent, ideally those who began their careers as project and program managers and have grown into leading PMOs within IT consulting and services companies.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive PMO for professional services projects and programs in cloud services.
• Program Management: Lead cloud programs from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget. Oversee project teams, allocate resources, and mitigate risks for successful outcomes.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, and delivery managers to ensure successful program and project implementation.
• Change Management: Drive organizational change efforts, ensuring stakeholders are informed, engaged, and trained on new cloud technologies and processes.
• Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with cloud initiatives, ensuring security, compliance, and governance standards are met.
• Performance Monitoring: Define KPIs for programs and projects, develop a PMO dashboard, and track indicators to measure success, providing regular reports to senior leadership.
• Innovation and Best Practices: Identify opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement within the cloud PMO. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years leading PMOs and teams within IT Services/Consulting organizations.
• Experience: At least 5 years managing and leading cloud professional service engagements.
• Certifications: PMP, PgMP, CSM, Prince2.
• Skills: Program and Project Management, proficiency with project management tools.
• Proven success in leading large-scale cloud transformation projects.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing technologies, architecture, and security best practices.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
