Job summary

Niyam IT is seeking a Principal Technical Architect to lead the corporate engineering team on federal programs, driving architectural direction across geographies and technologies.

You will mentor engineers, shape technical strategy, and deliver AI-enabled solutions like GeoCube and ARIA while ensuring security, performance, and compliance across programs in a hybrid Ashburn-based role.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Geospatial Engineering, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
• Must be available to work onsite in Ashburn, VA.
• 10+ years of professional full stack software development experience across frontend, backend, and API layers.
• Experience with Flutter, Angular, Spring Boot, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or mobile platforms.
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production applications and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and security fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end solution architecture aligning with business and mission objectives.
• Enforce architectural principles, standards, patterns, and guardrails.
• Lead design, integration, and deployment strategies across web, mobile, cloud, and AI solutions.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership across SDLC, including API components and shared services.
• Guide AI/ML integration into applications, including virtual assistants and recommendations.
• Maintain architecture diagrams, ADRs, and technical documentation.
• Mentor developers, ensure code quality, and support production readiness.
