Job summary

LTA Research is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to act as a senior, technical authority in Systems Engineering for lighter-than-air flight programs. You will own the system-level safety, verification, and certification strategy and guide internal audits and regulatory interactions.

The role requires leading cross-disciplinary teams, mentoring engineers, and shaping architectures for complex vehicle programs while coordinating with regulators and suppliers to ensure airworthiness.

Qualifications

• Experience taking systems through certification lifecycle with airworthiness authorities (FAA/EASA).
• Proven hands-on experience with SSA and safety analyses (FHA, PSSA, FMEA/FMECA, FTA).
• Experience in system-of-systems architecture and end-to-end verification.

Responsibilities

• Innovate system-safety approaches and own safety-assessment strategy.
• Lead SSA, FHA, PSSA, FMEA/FMECA, FTA per ARP4754A/ARP4761.
• Architect and validate complex system-of-systems with MBSE.
• Define major verification and integration strategy for vehicle programs.
• Mentor Senior engineers and lead cross-functional teams.
• Coordinate certification artifacts and regulatory interactions.
