Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer at the Melbourne Engineering Center (MEC) in Melbourne, FL to tackle MTI, SAR, and embedded software challenges. You will develop sensor system modes and data-processing algorithms, testing with real data and coordinating across teams using MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, and C++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience, a master’s degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 year of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• U.S Citizenship is required.
• A current/active U.S Government Secret Clearance.
• Proficiency in engineering programming languages, such as LabVIEW, C++, MATLAB, and/or Python.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop sensor system modes and advanced signal- and data-processing algorithms from derivation through testing with simulated and real sensor data.
• Conduct performance analysis of flight data from multiple radar platforms.
• Develop and maintain analysis tools using MATLAB, LabVIEW, Python, and C++.
• Collaborate using SharePoint, Jira, Confluence, and IBM ClearCase/ClearQuest.
• Prepare design documentation; report progress; and deliver presentations to management, colleagues, and customers.
