Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Platform Systems Engineer for the Special Operations Aviation (SOA) helicopter programs. You will perform PSE activities, create design artifacts, execute tests in the lab, and contribute to cockpit avionics integration on complex upgrade programs.

Travel up to 10% is required. The role offers opportunities to mentor engineers, interface with customers, and advance avionics development within the Military Avionics group.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Experience within a Systems Engineering role.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Platform Systems Engineering activities for SOA helicopter programs, including design artifacts, test procedures and lab testing.
  • Complete avionics work across cockpit systems for SOA programs.
  • Lead bids & pursuits, following Collins Processes for SOA programs.
  • Lead customer discussions alongside program chiefs and architects.
  • Design system solutions ensuring integration of Collins products in upgrade programs.

Job description

Overview

Join our Rotary Wing Platform Systems Team within the Military Avionics group at Collins Aerospace. You will play a crucial role in developing and testing avionics for Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs. The dynamic position offers flexibility to push the boundaries of technology and enhance the capabilities of military helicopter platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Perform Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities for the SOA helicopter programs, including creation of design artifacts and decisions, execution of test procedures, and testing the systems in the lab.
  • Complete work for avionics solutions across the cockpit avionics for the Special Operations Aviation programs.
  • Navigate bids & pursuits, adhering to Collins Processes for the SOA programs.
  • Lead customer discussions alongside program chiefs and architects.
  • Design system solutions, ensuring the integration of Collins Aerospace products into complex upgrade programs and working with other military helicopter programs.
  • Provide mentorship to other engineers within the Platform Systems team and the department.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time as needed.

Qualifications – Must Have

  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET security clearance.
  • Experience with Collins Aerospace’s Common Avionics Architecture System (CAAS).
  • Experience with DARs.
  • Experience in bids & pursuits.
  • Experience with TNT, DOORS, PREP, JIRA, and/or Microsoft Office Suite.
