Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, in Cedar Rapids is seeking a Platform Systems Engineer for SOA helicopter programs. You will perform PSE activities, develop design artifacts, execute test procedures, and test systems in labs, ensuring avionics solutions meet program needs onsite in Cedar Rapids.

You will lead customer discussions with program chiefs and architects, mentor teammates, and navigate bids within Collins processes. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years, or 9 years of relevant experience without a degree.
• Experience within a Systems Engineering role.

Responsibilities

• Perform Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities for SOA helicopter programs, including design artifacts and decisions, test procedures and lab testing.
• Use tools: DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft Office and others to support avionics solutions across cockpit systems.
• Navigate bids and pursuits, adhering to Collins Processes for SOA programs.
• Lead customer discussions alongside program chiefs and architects.
• Design system solutions ensuring integration of Collins Aerospace products into upgrade programs.
• Provide mentorship to other engineers within the Platform Systems team.

Here, you will play a crucial role in developing and testing avionics for Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs. What You Will Do:

• You will perform Platform Systems Engineering (PSE) activities for the SOA helicopter programs, including creation of design artifacts and decisions, execution of test procedures, testing the systems out in the lab, etc.
• Tools used are DOORS, JIRA, PREP, Microsoft, SVN and others. You will complete work for avionics solutions across the cockpit avionics for the Special Operations Aviation (SOA) programs.
• You will navigate through the bids & pursuits, adhering to Collins Processes for the SOA programs.
• You will lead customer discussions alongside the program chiefs & architects.
• You will design system solutions, ensuring the integration of Collins Aerospace products into complex upgrade programs working with other military helicopter programs.
• You will provide mentorship to other engineers within the Platform Systems team and others in the department.
• Up to 10% of travel as needed.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
