Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Melbourne, Florida, seeks a Principal/Sr. Principal Systems Engineer - Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) to join our team.

The role requires an active DoD Secret clearance and EMI/EMC expertise to design, analyze, and verify E3 requirements across programs. You will collaborate across disciplines, develop guidelines, lead design reviews, and mentor junior engineers while delivering EMI/EMC solutions for ground systems, shielding, and harnesses.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance or higher.
• Bachelor's in STEM with 5+ years experience (or Master's 3 years, PhD 1).
• Experience with MIL-STD-464 or MIL-STD-461.
• 2 years RF, Test or design engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• All programs have E3 requirements; write, interpret, allocate and flow down E3 requirements.
• Present at design reviews to internal and external customers regarding E3 issues.
• Design E3 test procedures and participate in E3 testing per standards (MIL-STD 461/464, DO-160).
• Develop E3 design guidelines and EMI/EMC analyses across components and systems.
• Mentor less experienced E3 engineers and contribute to cross-discipline reviews.
