The role emphasizes systems engineering, requirements development, software development and verification, and MBSE, with travel up to 10% for program needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in a STEM field from an accredited university; 5+ years of related experience, or 3+ with a Master's, or 1 with a PhD.
• Solid understanding of system engineering processes and principles.
• Experience with software development and verification of requirements.
• Ability to communicate clearly; capable of working independently or in a team.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs; in-person work in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

• Support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the Systems Engineering Team for the GFC product.
• Develop and assist in the requirements process to support design and development of GWS capabilities for MDA.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment; contribute to SE artifacts and work products.
• Travel up to 10% as needed to support program activities.

Job Description TCS is searching for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our strong team of Engineers supporting our Ground based Midcourse Defense GMD customer in Huntsville AL The GMD program is a portion of the Missile Defense Agencys MDA system to protect the US and our allies from ballistic missile attacks The selected candidate will use modern tools to further the development and sustainment of the GMD system This is an in office position Remote work is not available

Essential Functions

The selected Principal Systems Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System GWS program as an individual contributor on the Systems Engineering Team for the Ground Fire Control GFC product The Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and assisting in the requirements process that directly supports the design and development of GWS capabilities on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency MDAThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast paced work environment with high expectations significantly diverse assignments and collaborativeteams comprised of all experience levels

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in a STEM Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Masters Degree in STEM and 3 years of related experience or 1 year of experience with a PhD in STEMMust have a solid understanding of system engineering processes and principles along with proven experience in applying them to develop product solutionsMust have experience with SW development and the verification of requirementsExperience with a large scale missile defense system like GMDApplicants must possess good communication skillsApplicants must demonstrate the ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products presentations and discussionsCapable of working both independently and within a team environmentMust be able to support an in person closed area work environmentApplicants must have a current active in scope DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to startAbility and willingness to travel up to 10 of the time to support business needs
