Job summary

TCS Inc in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join the Ground Weapons System team supporting the GMD program. You will contribute to requirements development and system engineering activities for the GWS product and collaborate with MDA stakeholders.

This in-office role requires strong communication, the ability to work independently and with teams, and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needs.

Qualifications

• Requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of related experience, or 3 years with a Master’s, or 1 year with a PhD.
• Solid understanding of system engineering processes and applying them to product solutions.
• Experience with software development and verification of requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) on the Ground Fire Control (GFC) product as an individual contributor.
• Develop and assist in requirements processes that support design and development of GWS capabilities for MDA.

Clearances Required Active DoD Secret Location Huntsville Alabama United States Job Description TCS is searching for a Principal Systems Engineer to join our strong team of Engineers supporting our Ground based Midcourse Defense GMD customer in Huntsville AL The GMD program is a portion of the Missile Defense Agencys MDA system to protect the US and our allies from ballistic missile attacks The selected candidate will use modern tools to further the development and sustainment of the GMD system This is an in office position Remote work is not available

Essential Functions

The selected Principal Systems Engineer responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System GWS program as an individual contributor on the Systems Engineering Team for the Ground Fire Control GFC product The Systems Engineer will be responsible for developing and assisting in the requirements process that directly supports the design and development of GWS capabilities on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency MDAThe selected candidate should thrive in a fast paced work environment with high expectations significantly diverse assignments and collaborativeteams comprised of all experience levels

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in a STEM Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Masters Degree in STEM and 3 years of related experience or 1 year of experience with a PhD in STEM
• Must have a solid understanding of system engineering processes and principles along with proven experience in applying them to develop product solutions
• Must have experience with SW development and the verification of requirements
• Experience with a large scale missile defense system like GMD
• Applicants must possess good communication skills
• Applicants must demonstrate the ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products presentations and discussions
• Capable of working both independently and within a team environment
• Must be able to support an in person closed area work environment
• Applicants must have a current active in scope DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 10 of the time to support business needs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with the MDA GMD program
• Advanced degree in Mathematics or Physics
• Battle Management or Fire Control experience
• MBSE or INCOSE Certifications
• Experience developing SE artifacts including specifications Interface Control Documents Use Cases System Architecture Descriptions Trade Studies and similar documents
