Job summary

RTX is seeking an experienced IT Systems Administrator to support SIPR and other information systems in a Windows/Linux environment. This onsite role requires active DoD Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.

You will manage virtualized environments, DNS/DHCP/AD, RAID, encryption, and server management tools, while collaborating with Cybersecurity to maintain security requirements. Travel up to 10% and 24x7 operations are expected.

Qualifications

• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• 5+ years of relevant IT systems administration experience.
• Experience with Windows and/or Linux environments.
• Experience in Active Directory, VMware, and networking administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT systems administration in a Windows/Linux heterogeneous environment supporting SIPR and other systems.
• Work in a fast-paced team, troubleshoot basic to moderate problems, and integrate hardware and OS.
• Manage virtualized environments and server infrastructure.
• Configure DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
• Handle hardware RAID, encryption, and server management tools.
• Perform data backup and restore following industry best practices.
• Install and configure software requested by end users.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity to maintain security requirements.
• Meet DoDD 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (Security+ CE or equivalent) within 6 months.
• Role is 24x7 operations with occasional extended hours; travel up to 10% US domestic.
• Work full time, 100% onsite.

What You Will Do:

• Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows environment supporting SIPR and other information systems.
• Work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.
• Manage virtualized environments.
• Utilize your experience with Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
• Utilize your experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption and server management tools.
• Utilize your experience in data backup and restore, using industry best practice.
• Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
• Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
• Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
• Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.
• Travel required as business needs dictate to other US Domestic locations, up to 10% per year.
• Work full time, 100% Onsite position.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
• Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
• Windows and/or Linux experience.
• Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, networking administration experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• An Active and transferable U.S. government issued Top Secret security clearance.
• Experience with Containerization Technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher.
• Experience with Continuous Integration\Continuous Delivery Tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
• Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
• Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF, data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies and solutions.
• Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
• Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
• High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
