Job summary

Raytheon Technologies’ Digital Technology team in Tucson, AZ seeks a Principal System Administrator to design, implement, and maintain secure IT environments for classified programs. You will collaborate across teams to define computing requirements and deliver end-to-end IT solutions in a 24x7 context.

Role requires a DoD Secret clearance, DoDD 8140/8570 certification within 6 months, and travel up to 10%. Start date contingent on interim clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work with Cybersecurity to maintain security requirements.

Principal System Administrator, based in Tucson, AZ will collaborate and support exciting, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you can develop, implement, and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on your collaboration and guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

What You Will Do:
  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows environment supporting information systems.
  • Work as a team member in afast-pacedtechnologicalenvironment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems.
  • Manage virtualized environments.
  • Utilize your experience with Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  • Utilize your experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption and server management tools.
  • Utilize your experience in data backup and restore, using industry best practice.
  • Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
  • Obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date.
  • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.

Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. Start date will not be set until interim clearance is issued
  • Must have Linux or Windows experience.
  • Experience in one of the following: Active Directory, VMware, networking administration experience
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Experience with Containerization Technologies such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, Tanzu, and Rancher.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration\Continuous Delivery Tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.
  • Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).
  • Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF.
  • Experience with networking administration, data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies.
  • Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.
  • Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience in a Linux environment.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
