Job summary

RTX is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to support a DoD environment in a 100% onsite role in Atlanta. You will manage Windows and Linux systems, Active Directory, VMware, and networking, ensuring compliant asset lifecycles and robust security practices.

You will image, deploy, and maintain IT assets, resolve end-user issues, and work with Cybersecurity to meet DoD requirements. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience.
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • Windows and/or Linux experience.
  • Experience in Active Directory, VMware, networking administration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHat Enterprise/Microsoft Windows environment.
  • Image and configure new IT assets for deployment to end users.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT assets, including processing returned assets into the database and ensuring accurate inventory records.
  • Provide technical support by diagnosing and resolving end-user issues related to hardware and software.
  • Manage virtualized environments.
  • Utilize Windows Server internals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
  • Utilize hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption and server management tools.
  • Utilize data backup and restore, using industry best practice.
  • Manage and update IT service tickets, ensuring timely resolution within SLAs.
  • Provide documentation and training on advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
  • Support other IT operations and tasks as required to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
  • Obtain DoDD 8140/8570 Certification requirements within 6 months of start date.
  • Systems are 24x7 and may require after-hours work.
  • Travel up to 10% per year.

What You Will Do:

Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous RedHatEnterprise/Microsoft Windows and environment.

Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Experience with Continuous Integration\Continuous Delivery Tools such as Gitlab, Jenkins, and Azure DevOps.

Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification and an Operating System Certification).

Experience with NISPOM, JAFAN, JSIG, DFARS and/or DoD/RMF, data storage, NAS, and SAN technologies andsolutions.

Experience using VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX and/or other virtual computing methods.

Experience with Microsoft WSUS, MECM, and/or Exchange.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
