Role Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Principal Substation Electrical Engineer to join our Power Delivery & Renewable team. This senior leadership position involves technical and project management responsibilities, including project engineering, proposal management, and business development. The role requires ensuring project execution aligns with all applicable codes, standards, and company policies, and involves collaboration with various internal teams and external clients across North America.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and grow the Substation Electrical team, overseeing resource planning and quality reviews.
• Support development, detailed design, and construction of utility and developer projects.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop complete design packages and review engineering studies.
• Act as Project Manager, Proposal Manager, and Technical Lead to support business growth.
• Mentor junior staff and ensure quality assurance and quality control.
• Participate in client meetings and support business development efforts.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in substation engineering and design, including HV and EHV substations for utilities, developers, or industrial facilities.
• Experience within Power Delivery Substation Electrical consultancy and understanding of power delivery, generation, and renewables.
• PE License.
• Proficiency in engineering software such as SKM, ASPEN, ETAP, CAPE, CDEGS, WinIGS, with adherence to relevant codes and standards.

Preferred

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
