Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sunnyvale, CA seeks a Principal Procurement Specialist to manage subcontracting activities for maritime and land systems. The role reports to the Marine Systems Business Unit and is onsite in Sunnyvale, CA, with coordination across contracts, engineering, and quality teams.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of procurement or a Master’s with 3+ years, and experience with FAR/DFARS and government contracting. SAP experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years procurement or Master’s with 3+ years procurement
• Experience with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations
• Experience with FAR/DFARS and Federal contracting regulations

Responsibilities

• Develop subcontract specs, work statements, and terms for procurement of services and materials
• Prepare bid packages, conduct bidder conferences, analyze proposals, negotiate subcontract provisions
• Ensure documentation is provided to logistics/warehouse for proper receipt
• Negotiate and coordinate subcontracts changes
• Coordinate subcontract funding, invoice processing, and program reviews with stakeholders
• Identify strategies to reduce cost and manage risk through negotiations
• Manage subcontracts, ensure compliance with laws and company policies
• Utilize Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality and efficiency
