Job summary

Palo Alto Networks in Santa Clara, CA seeks a Principal Site Reliability Engineer for the ADEM team to ensure end-to-end visibility, self-healing capability, and reliability of global services. You will work on automation, observability, security, and performance across cloud platforms.

You will design Golden Paths, implement IaC/MaC, and lead RCA to drive improvements while collaborating with developers, researchers, and data scientists in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to Federal Government requirements.
• 7+ years as an engineer in Infrastructure, Operations, DevOps, or System Engineering.
• Experience with code assist/AI productivity tools to accelerate development and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in building high-availability, scalable cloud-native apps on GCP (preferred) or AWS.
• Experience with configuration management and IaC (Terraform, Helm, Ansible).
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Java; data streaming with Kafka/Pulsar is a plus.
• Deep Kubernetes (GKE/EKS), container networking, and Linux internals.
• Experience with GitOps principles and tools (GitLab CI, ArgoCD).
• Familiarity with FedRAMP, SOC2 and automating policy-as-code.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Drive SRE/DevOps initiatives and self-healing infrastructure.
• Architect Golden Paths for service delivery with integrated SLOs and canary analysis.
• Design, build, and operate reliable, secure cloud infra supporting synthetic monitoring and RUM.
• Ensure production readiness, scalability and resilience in collaboration with developers and data scientists.
• Develop IaC and Monitoring as Code frameworks and automation tooling.
• Lead RCA of critical incidents and drive long-term improvements.
