Full-Stack Web Developer – DAF CLOUDworks – Air Force Research Lab (Rome, NY)
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking a Full‑Stack Web Developer to maintain and enhance capabilities in support of DAF CLOUDworks at the Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) in Rome, NY.

Role & Responsibilities
- Actively participate in a cross‑functional team providing technical support to customers using DAF CLOUDworks.
- Collaborate on operations and sustainment, modifying and enhancing products to implement new requirements, improve functionality, increase efficiency, and lower operating and deployment costs.
- Maintain effective communication and strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
- Follow Agile development process and fully support the software development life‑cycle.
- Interface with geographically distributed teams, clearly communicating project status and blockers.
- Support 24/7 on‑call rotation.
Basic Qualifications
- Level3: Bachelor’s degree in science with5+years of software development experience, or Master’s with3+years, or4additional years in lieu of a degree.
- Level4: Bachelor’s degree in science with8+years of software development experience, or Master’s with6+years, or4additional years in lieu of a degree.
- Active Secret clearance; ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- Ability to obtain IAT LevelII certification (e.g., CASP+, Security+) per DoD8570.01 within 60days of start date.
- Experience developing full‑stack web applications with Typescript, React, Node.js, CSS, Lambda, API, NoSQL DB, and Python.
- Experience with UI styling frameworks such as ShadCN or Tailwind CSS.
- Proficiency with version control (Git) and cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
- Experience applying Agile principles, processes, and tools in development.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, testing, and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate routine tasks.
- Demonstrated experience in cloud adoption, environment prototyping, and data migration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IATLevelII (DoD8570.01).
- Prior DoD development experience.
- Strong understanding of web security, including WAF, SQL Injection/XSS prevention, and authentication/authorization via zero‑trust workflows (IAM, RBAC).
- Experience with Gitlab runners, CI/CD pipelines, and SonarQube or other static code analysis frameworks.
- Experience with document databases such as DynamoDB.
- Exposure to frameworks such as React, Angular, Java, JavaScript.
Salary & Benefits
- Level3: $103,600 – $155,400 per year.
- Level4: $129,300 – $193,900 per year.
