What You’ll Get to Do

Design, develop, integrate, and test embedded software for end‑user customers, primarily focused on Link‑16 and Tactical Datalink systems. Responsibilities include architecting real‑time embedded solutions, working with multidisciplinary teams (Systems Engineering, Digital Engineering, Hardware, Integration & Test), applying Agile development practices, and analyzing system capabilities to resolve program intent and performance issues.

Principal Engineer Embedded Software

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or STEM discipline with 5years of related experience, or Master’s with 3years, or PhD with 1year.
• Proficient in C/C++ and object‑oriented programming.
• Experienced in full software lifecycles, from requirements to testing.
• Integrating low‑level firmware in complex real‑time, multi‑threaded embedded applications.
• Debugging embedded real‑time systems and performing static analysis and unit testing.
• Proficient with Jira, Bitbucket, Git, and Agile processes.
• Testing and troubleshooting Link‑16 waveform in an embedded environment.
• Hands‑on lab experience with Tactical Datalink radios and terminals.
• Familiarity with Link‑16/TACAN waveform standards, CORBA, SCA, and software‑defined radios.
• Must obtain U.S. Government Secret clearance.
• Full‑time onsite at Rancho Carmel.

Sr. Principal Engineer Embedded Software

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or STEM discipline with 8years of related experience, or Master’s with 6years, or PhD with 4years.
• All skills listed for the Principal Engineer role.
• Must obtain U.S. Government Secret clearance.
• Full‑time onsite at Rancho Carmel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Avionics Operating System, Xilinx platforms (Zynq, Ultrascale+, VERSAL), Yocto/Petalinux.
• Communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, PCIe, Ethernet, TCP/IP.
• Cryptographic mechanisms and dedicated libraries.
• Rust, Vitis, Vivado, HAIPE, OTNK, IKE.
• Linux kernel driver development and assembly language.
• Bare‑metal device drivers, PowerPC architectures, IBM Rhapsody/DOORS/Clearcase.
• Green Hills AdaMulti, MIL‑STD‑6016.
• Active Secret or Top Secret clearance, SAP clearance, network solutions portfolio experience.

Salary & Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000—$171,000. Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200—$213,400.
