Job summary

0090 CORP-Corporate Office is seeking a Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer to design and develop software for engineering and manufacturing systems. This on-site role in Rolling Meadows, IL requires strong C++ programming and embedded software experience, as well as the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Preferred candidates will possess experience with complex systems and demonstrated leadership skills. Competitive salary range between $135,800 and $203,600, along with full benefits including health insurance and paid time off, will be offered.

Job Overview

Position Title: Sr. Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Rolling Meadows, IL (on-site)

Relocation Assistance: Available

Travel: Required, 10% of the time

Clearance: Secret clearance required prior to start

US citizenship is required for all positions with government clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, operate, and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software for engineering, scientific, and manufacturing requirements.
• Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support engineering applications and products within the RF Business Unit.
• Interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel.
• Perform the full software development life cycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, and integration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of 8+ years of engineering experience; or Master’s degree with 6+ years of engineering experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Object-Oriented Programming in C++ (including C++11 where applicable).
• Familiarity with software architecture, design patterns, and object-oriented design.
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Batch.
• Experience developing embedded software on Linux or VxWorks operating systems.
• Knowledge of software development methodologies and frameworks such as Waterfall and/or Agile.
• Proficiency with version control systems (Git, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, ClearCase, etc.) and Agile planning tools (Rally, Jira, etc.).
• US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance prior to start.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with complex systems of systems utilizing parallel processing, multi-threading, distributed processing, multi-core, system-on-chip, and secure processing.
• Experience testing, debugging, and integrating embedded software on target hardware.
• Active Secret clearance.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork capability with strong interpersonal communication skills and activities.

Salary & Benefits

Primary Level Salary Range: $135,800.00 - $203,600.00. Base salary may be adjusted based on scope, responsibilities, and candidate experience.
