Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a seasoned Principal SQA engineer for the SD-WAN group to validate core networking and security features. You will join a world-class software team addressing cutting-edge SD-WAN technologies and collaborate with multiple engineering groups to ensure top-quality solutions.

The role emphasizes office-based work with several days in the office weekly; travel and flexible work arrangements may apply as needed.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience, BS/MS or equivalent military experience
• Exposure to TCP/IP protocols (ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, IPSec VPNs)
• Experience testing enterprise routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
• Exposure to networking features (Multicast, IPv6, DNS, NAT, DHCP)
• Exposure to Linux testing on x86 platforms
• Exposure to control/data plane architecture in networking devices
• Experience with performance characterization of a networking product
• Automation/Programming using Python and REST APIs
• Experience with large-scale enterprise networks a plus
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware ESXi, QEMU/KVM, Hyper-V)
• Ability to build/maintain complex networking testbeds
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging/troubleshooting

Responsibilities

• Work in a small and fast-paced team to solve important customer problems and deliver impactful results
• Contribute in all phases of end to end product and solution validation
• Work with different development and quality assurance groups to achieve the best quality
• Suggest and implement improvements to the QA process
• Collaborate with DevOps and Technical Support to troubleshoot customer issues
