Job summary

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a seasoned Principal SQA engineer to validate core networking and security features in the SD-WAN team. You will join a world-class software engineering group solving complex problems and partnering with cross-functional teams.

Office-based with a preference for in-office presence; you will mentor peers and contribute to end-to-end validation of networking features, including routing, VPNs, and performance testing in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience with a BS/MS or equivalent military experience.
• Proficient in TCP/IP: ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, IPSec VPNs.
• Experience testing enterprise routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP.
• Experience with networking features: Multicast, IPv6, DNS, NAT & DHCP.
• Experience with control plane and data plane architecture in networking devices.
• Exposure to Linux testing on x86 platform; components & tools.
• Exposure to performance characterization of networking products.
• Exposure to automation/programming using Python and REST APIs.
• Experience with large-scale/network testbeds a plus.
• Familiarity with virtualization: VMware ESXi, qemu/KVM, Hyper-V.
• Build and maintain complex networking testbeds.
• Excellent problem-solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a small and fast paced team to solve important customer problems and deliver most impactful results
• Contribute in all phases of end to end product and solution validation
• Work with different development and quality assurances groups to achieve the best quality
• Suggest and implement improvements to the QA process
• Work with DevOps and the Technical Support teams to troubleshoot customer issues.
