Job summary

RTX in Goleta, CA is seeking a Principal Specialist Data Manager to oversee data deliverables for government contracts. The role is onsite with a requirement for an active Secret clearance on day one. You will build data tracks in a PDM system and coordinate with the Program Office to ensure compliance and timely customer delivery.

Responsibilities include managing sub-tier data, securing approvals, and ensuring proper configuration control of data in the PDM system across the contract lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 4 years relevant experience.
• 5 years professional experience.
• Experience with government standards/processes: EIA-649, CM Standard, GEIA-859 Data Mgmt.
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Current and active U.S. Secret security clearance.

What You Will Do

• Identify all data deliverables that are part of a contract.
• Build a data track in a Product Data Management (PDM) system.
• Work with the Program Office to identify appropriate preparers, receive data within PDM, and review the data for compliance.
• Solicit and secure appropriate programmatic approval and deliver the information to the customer on time throughout the lifecycle of the contract.
• Review sub‑tier contractor requirements, build data tracks for supplier submissions, and receive data from various suppliers.
• Route approvals and incorporate into prime contractor deliverables to the customer.
• Secure non‑deliverable program work products to be configuration controlled in the PDM system and related tasking.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Bachelor’s degree (or in absence of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience).
• 5 years of professional experience.
• Experience with government standards and processes such as EIA‑649, Configuration Management Standard, and GEIA‑859, Data Management.
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Current and active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Strong business acumen including planning, forecasting, analytical skills and ability to negotiate and influence.
• Team‑based work experience with organizational and external customer contacts.
• Sense of urgency; ability to meet challenging deadlines and attention to detail.

• Experience generating Data Management productivity metrics and reports.
• Experience estimating, proposing, and managing Data Management cost and schedule.
• Experience with Windchill or similar PDM tools.
• Earned Value Management System (EVMS) certification with relevant experience.
• Active DoD clearance.
