Job summary

Ally Financial seeks a Principal – Software Test to own the end-to-end testing strategy from its Detroit HQ. You will design, develop and execute automated tests for mobile and web apps using Python and JavaScript, and implement scalable automation frameworks across CI/CD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or closely related field and four years of experience.
• Four years of software testing experience for web and mobile applications.
• Four years in an Agile development environment.
• Two years in financial-services industry testing (banking/investment).
• Two years using test-automation frameworks (Appium, Maestro, Cypress).
• Two years using Python and JavaScript for automated test scripts.
• One year leading QA initiatives and mentoring QA team members.
• Experience with mobile-device cloud platforms like BrowserStack or Perfecto.
• Accessibility testing experience using TalkBack, VoiceOver, or accessibility tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and own end-to-end testing strategy to support timely delivery and reduce post-release defects.
• Design, develop and execute automated testscripts for Mobile and Web applications using Python and JavaScript.
• Implement and maintain test automation frameworks for Mobile and Web.
• Use device clouds (BrowserStack, Perfecto) for cross-device testing.
• Drive best practices in testing, Agile, and continuous improvement.
• Perform functional, regression, accessibility, performance and security testing hands-on.
