Job summary

Altruist in San Francisco is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to own quality across the user-facing platform and internal systems. You will lead hands-on manual testing and build automation to ensure fast, reliable product delivery.

Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional teams to define robust test strategies for core capabilities and AI-powered features. You will drive end-to-end testing across UI, API, and data layers, design test plans, and contribute to continuous

Qualifications

5+ years of QA/Software Test experience in fintech or SaaS environments.
Strong hands-on manual testing across UI and API with exploratory testing.
Experience building, maintaining, and executing test plans with cross-functional teams.
Experience in agile environments with regular releases.
Experience testing across full stack: UI, APIs, backend systems.
Hands-on automation regression coverage design and maintenance.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end functional testing across UI, API, and database layers.
Define test cases with Engineering and Product to ensure high-quality features.
Build and maintain test automation frameworks in Java using Playwright and Selenium.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to surface failures early.
Design and execute test plans for AI-powered features.
Use Jira to manage test cases and defects in agile workflows.
