Job summary

GliaCell Technologies in Columbia, Maryland is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to support a U.S. Government contract. The role focuses on automating foundational infrastructure, improving existing processes, and delivering robust software in a mixed Python/Java Spring Boot environment.

You will drive innovation with AI tooling and autonomous problem solving. Ideal candidates have extensive SAS/SWE experience, strong communication, and the ability to work independently while collaborating

Qualifications

• Proven production-grade software development in Python and/or Java (Spring Boot).
• Ability to independently identify system inefficiencies and drive them to resolution.
• Experience integrating AI development tools into daily engineering workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills with focus on automation and process optimization.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Automate and provision foundational infrastructure to support mission-critical customer requirements.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in development/deployment processes and engineer solutions.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot applications across Python/Java Spring Boot stack.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding speed and delivery.
• Operate with autonomy to drive strategic process improvements and system optimizations.
