Job summary

Paychex is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Irving, TX to own design and delivery of complex client/server and cloud-based applications. You will lead architectural decisions, review code, and drive integration across services within an Agile team.

The role requires deep expertise in C#, ASP.NET, SQL, REST and modern front-end frameworks, with 5+ years in Web Services and SaaS environments. This position emphasizes technical leadership and deployment readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field; 5+ years experience or a Master's with 3+ years.
• 5+ years of Web Service development (REST, SOAP, WCF).
• 5+ years building Web Applications in SaaS or cloud environments.
• Strong experience with front-end frameworks (Angular, React, Ember, Knockout).
• 3+ years building automated unit tests using MS Test or similar.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for reliability, availability, and scalability of applications.
• Communicate progress, roadblocks, and solutions with Scrum Master and Product Management.
• Lead integration of software across products, platforms, and environments.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to team members.
• Prepare and assist with software deployments and build support.
