A leading technology company is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to serve as a Compliance Architect. This role involves developing compliance strategies, ensuring security standards, and collaborating with various teams to embed compliance into the development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in compliance frameworks and secure software development, along with proficiency in Java or Golang.
Principal Software Engineer - Platform Security / Compliance Architect - (Remote)
Location : Multiple US cities or Fully Remote

We are seeking a talented Principal Software Engineer to serve as our Compliance Architect, leading efforts in developing compliance strategies, ensuring security standards, and designing secure solutions for our platforms.
Responsibilities :
Develop and own a comprehensive compliance strategy across our platform, ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.
Lead the design of a robust security framework to protect sensitive data.
Collaborate with engineering, security, legal, and compliance teams to embed compliance into the development lifecycle.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and audits, addressing gaps as needed.
Act as the engineering point of contact for audits, providing documentation and participating in reviews.
Advise internal stakeholders on compliance matters.
Stay updated on regulatory changes and emerging technologies to enhance compliance frameworks.
Train engineering teams on secure coding and compliance controls.
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Several years of experience as a software engineer specializing in compliance architecture or similar roles.
Deep knowledge of compliance frameworks like SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, FedRamp, ISO.
Understanding of DevSecOps practices and secure software development lifecycle.
Proven experience designing compliance strategies in SaaS or cloud environments.
Proficiency in Java and / or Golang, with experience in security and compliance tools.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 1 week per quarter; on-call availability.
Preferred Qualifications :
Certifications such as CISSP, CISA.
Knowledge of risk management, vulnerability assessments, and identity management.
Understanding of data governance practices.
