Job summary

FormFactor, Inc. seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, modernization, and support of software for semiconductor manufacturing and test systems.

You will drive cross‑functional initiatives, migrate legacy MATLAB/LabVIEW to C#/.NET, and ensure integration with equipment, motion control, and machine vision platforms. The role operates with high autonomy, guiding architectural decisions and engineering standards while collaborating with hardware, quality, and product

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or closely related field.
• Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET and object-oriented software development.
• Experience developing and maintaining MATLAB applications.
• Experience migrating MATLAB code/apps to C#/.NET.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across software, hardware, and systems teams.
• Experience with Silicon Photonics, semiconductor equipment, or automated test systems.
• Experience with motion control, machine vision, instrumentation, data acquisition, or industrial automation.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Agile development.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and maintenance of software for semiconductor manufacturing and test equipment.
• Architect and implement new software features from requirements to release.
• Provide technical leadership in software architecture and reviews.
• Promote software engineering best practices and coding standards.
• Migrate legacy MATLAB applications into C#/.NET platforms.
• Develop interfaces with equipment, motion control, and data acquisition hardware.
• Support legacy MATLAB/LabVIEW apps and plan modernization efforts.
• Ensure test automation, reliability, and performance in releases.
