Job summary

Collins Aerospace, part of RTX, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for our Fulton, MD facility. You will drive design, architecture and development of critical software capabilities in an active Agile setting, and lead multiple engineers to deliver solutions for government and commercial customers.

The role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and technical excellence across Java, C++, GraphQL, REST, and modern tech stacks.

Qualifications

• OO programming with Java or C++ and full lifecycle software development.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems.
• STEM degree with 5+ years experience or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of critical capabilities in an Agile environment.
• Coordinate activities of multiple engineers to ensure technical execution and delivery.
• Proactively identify issues and motivate teams to resolve them.
• Communicate effectively with all levels and prepare presentations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate in a team to design, architect, and innovate software solutions.
