Job summary

Fidelity Investments is seeking a Principal Software Engineer in Test in Westlake, TX, to drive modernization and quality initiatives for desktop platforms. You will design automation frameworks, mentor teams, and collaborate with developers to ensure reliable software across UI, API, and backend layers.

The role requires hands-on expertise in Selenium, Karate, and Playwright with Java, Python, and TypeScript, plus cloud and CI/CD proficiency.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
12+ years in Software Test / Quality Engineering roles.
Experience testing distributed applications at multiple layers (UI, API, Backend).
Hands-on experience developing and maintaining test frameworks like Selenium, Karate, and Playwright.
Strong skills in Java, Python, TypeScript, and SQL.
Extensive experience with Test Automation design, development and execution using Playwright, Karate, and Selenium.
Ability to lead and influence others and build partnerships.
Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and CI/CD tools.
Understanding/non-functional testing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead quality engineering efforts for a multi-year modernization initiative.
Design and develop test automation frameworks for desktop platform modernization.
Drive adoption of modern tools, frameworks and best practices across teams.
Collaborate with development and business partners to ensure quality across the lifecycle.
Communicate effectively with globally distributed teams and stakeholders.
