Job summary

Fidelity Investments seeks a Principal Software Engineer in Test to drive Quality Engineering across a multi-year modernization. You will design and develop test automation frameworks for desktop platforms and lead efforts across UI, API, and backend layers.

This role requires on-site presence in Westlake, TX, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will establish standards and best practices, champion modern tools, and influence stakeholders to deliver high-quality software

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years in Software Test / Quality Engineering roles.
• Experience testing distributed applications at multiple layers (UI, API, Backend).
• Hands-on with Selenium, Karate and Playwright.
• Strong Java, Python, TypeScript and SQL skills.
• Strong experience in Test Automation design, development and execution using Playwright, Karate and Selenium.
• Highly collaborative and able to lead and influence others; build partner relationships.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), DevOps and CI/CD tools.
• Understanding non-functional testing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering efforts for a multi-year modernization initiative.
• Establish standards, frameworks, and best practices across QE.
• Design and develop test automation frameworks for an integrated Desktop Platform.
• Collaborate with development and business partners across the project lifecycle.
• Drive adoption of modern tools, technologies, and engineering practices across teams.
• Ensure continuous quality and CI/CD integration across product ecosystems.
