Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal Engineer of Software Development to provide technical leadership across Java/Spring Boot and React-based applications. You will mentor teams and translate complex requirements into scalable designs within the CXP and FiOS Order platforms.

Responsibilities include designing distributed systems, API design with Apigee, and implementing CI/CD while collaborating with architects, PMs, and stakeholders. Hybrid work includes three days in-office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of work experience.
• 6+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Deep knowledge of Java/Spring Boot and React/JS tooling.
• Strong understanding of microservices and RESTful API design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of large-scale distributed systems.
• Build high-quality software with Java/Spring Boot and React.
• Design, develop, and secure APIs using API management platforms (Apigee).
• Monitor and analyze performance with Kibana; manage code in Git.
• Provide technical guidance and establish coding standards and processes.
• Implement CI/CD automation and collaborate with architects and product managers.
• Address performance bottlenecks and optimize scalability.
