Job summary

Verizon is seeking a Principal Engineer of Software Development to provide technical leadership across design and implementation of scalable software, primarily using Java Spring Boot and React. You will mentor teams, work within the Customer Experience Platform and FiOS Order management platform, and participate in Agile processes.

In this hybrid role, you will collaborate with architects, product managers, and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust technical designs,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• 6+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Strong Java + Spring Boot expertise.
• Frontend with JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Knowledge of microservices, RESTful APIs, and software architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containers.
• Experience with Apigee, Kibana, and Git.
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and Agile processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of large-scale distributed systems.
• Build high-quality software using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design, develop, and secure APIs with Apigee.
• Monitor and analyze logs with Kibana.
• Collaborate on code using Git and enforce best practices.
• Drive CI/CD automation and deployment processes.

• Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize scalability.
