Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) seeks a Principal Software Engineer focused on Emerging Technology & AI to drive rapid prototypes, pilots, and scalable solutions. You will mentor engineers, shape tech standards, and partner with architecture and delivery teams.

The role is remote nationwide (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) and requires deep expertise in GenAI, cloud platforms, and enterprise patterns to advance enterprise adoption and secure delivery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent
• 10+ years of software development experience
• Knowledge of cloud-native services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern dev/ops
• Experience with build, integration, deployment tools (Jenkins, Maven)
• Programming languages: Java/J2EE, Python, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React

Responsibilities

• Lead technical experiments and prototypes for emerging tech initiatives
• Translate concepts into actionable designs and implementable prototypes
• Mentor engineers and guide technical execution
• Collaborate with Architecture, AI Strategy, Security, and Delivery teams
• Define reusable patterns and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
• Support transition of validated concepts to production teams
