Job summary

Ladders, a leader in the media space, seeks a Principal Software Engineer, DevOps to guide the reliability, automation, and scalability of a cloud-based platform. You will partner with engineering and operations teams to strengthen deployment practices, observability, and reduce toil through automation.

The role includes building internal AI-driven tools to boost SRE efficiency and resilience. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or similar SaaS operations.
• 3+ years managing AWS services and cloud infrastructure with Terraform; AWS Certification preferred.
• 3+ years working with containerized solutions like Docker and Kubernetes; familiarity with HELM charts.
• 5+ years of experience with programming languages like Go, Python, Bash, or Perl.
• 5+ years with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible), CI/CD pipelines (GIT, Jenkins), and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef).
• Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix platforms, including RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Amazon Linux.
• Experience building production-level AI systems, integrating tools, and managing failure situations.

Responsibilities

• Support the public cloud platform with cloud services and containerization.
• Develop infrastructure automation using Terraform, Chef, Jenkins, and Go.
• Create and manage production alerts, and conduct root-cause investigations.
• Develop automated operational runbooks.
• Support deployment of the company’s workforce management solution during and outside of office hours.
• Participate in the on-call rotation.
• Build and manage internal AI agents to reduce SRE toil, owning their guardrails and reliability.

For our client, we are seeking a Principal Software Engineer, DevOps to join the team of a leader in the Media space.

This role will guide the reliability, automation, and scalability of a cloud-based platform that supports mission-critical operations. You will partner closely with engineering and operations teams to strengthen deployment practices, improve observability, and reduce operational toil through automation. The position also includes building and governing internal AI-driven tools that enhance SRE efficiency and resilience.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $220,000 – $255,000 annually
