Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer, DevEx to guide the internal developer platform and improve how teams build, ship, and operate software at scale. You will partner with engineering leadership to reduce friction across the SDLC while boosting reliability, speed, and security.

You will provide technical leadership through incident reviews, architecture guidance, and mentorship to elevate standards across the organization, focusing on platform adoption and velocity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering with hands-on Go, Python, or Java.
• 7+ years building and operating cloud infrastructure at scale.
• Proven technical leadership across multiple teams.
• Experience with multi-account, multi-cluster Kubernetes platforms (EKS/GKE).
• Strong IaC with Terraform and Crossplane; GitOps practices.
• Experience designing CI/CD systems for high release velocity and security (GitLab CI/CD preferred).
• Hands-on observability with Prometheus, Datadog, Grafana; cost management focus.

Responsibilities

• Set and drive the technical roadmap for the internal developer platform.
• Author and review RFCs and design docs for cross-team adoption; serve as architecture reviewer for infra changes.
• Lead retrospectives on high-severity production incidents and implement structural fixes.
• Mentor senior and staff engineers to elevate technical standards across the organization.
• Own and evolve the internal developer platform as a product focusing on adoption and efficiency.
• Partner with engineering leadership to automate and resolve systemic friction in the SDLC.
• Own the architecture of CI/CD orchestration to support high release velocity and security.

For our client, we are seeking a Staff DevOps Engineer, Developer Experience (DevEx) to join the team of a leader in the Media space.

This role will shape the technical direction of the internal developer platform and improve how engineering teams build, ship, and operate software at scale.

You will partner closely with engineering leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to reduce friction across the software development lifecycle while strengthening reliability, speed, and security.

The position also requires technical leadership through incident reviews, architecture guidance, and mentorship that elevates standards across the organization.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $145,000 – $175,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Experience designing CI/CD systems for high release velocity and security, with GitLab CI/CD preferred


• Hands‑on experience with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Datadog, and Grafana, with a focus on cost management
