Job summary

Walmart Data Ventures is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead platform engineering efforts and deliver scalable, cloud-native infrastructure with reusable tooling and AI/ML capabilities.

You will drive the full SDLC across multiple teams, ensure high availability and real-time data processing, and mentor engineers while aligning with business goals and architectural standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related area.
• 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Responsibilities

• Lead platform engineering efforts, delivering scalable infrastructure and AI/ML tooling.
• Drive full software development lifecycle across multiple teams with high availability.
• Architect and integrate AI-enhanced applications using cloud-native principles.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, influence architectural standards.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define technical requirements and success metrics.
• Foster continuous improvement to enhance processes, tooling, and product quality.
