Job summary

Walmart Data Ventures seeks an experienced Staff Software Engineer in the USA to deliver scalable platform capabilities and drive the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance. You’ll mentor engineers and influence architectural decisions across teams.

You will apply cloud-native principles, integrate AI/ML components, and collaborate to translate complex business needs into actionable technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area.
• 4 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Master’s degree preferred with 2 years’ experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks.
• Lead full software development lifecycle activities (coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, maintenance).
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles for scalable, resilient systems.
• Conduct design reviews to validate quality and architecture.
• Develop AI-driven applications and ML integrations.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices.
