Job summary

Fidelity Digital Assets is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for Crypto Trading in Jersey City, NJ. The role focuses on high-performance, low-latency software in an agile setting, including design, implementation and deployment of distributed systems and microservices.

You will work closely with partners, mentor teammates, and contribute to critical trading initiatives, building scalable cloud-based services with a strong emphasis on automation and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Background in designing and developing low latency systems.
• Experience with modern Java using zero GC pattern.
• Knowledge of WebSocket and FIX protocols.
• Proficient in ultra-low latency design patterns and optimizing systems.
• Build and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, SQL development, and query tuning.
• Experience with designing APIs, distributed systems, asynchronous workers and resilient messaging services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application and database performance issues.
• Understanding of microservice architecture and cloud-based deployments.
• Ability to lead and mentor within small, agile teams.
