Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to drive full-stack Java and React development with a focus on reliability and scalability. You will design APIs, build microservices, and lead cloud-native initiatives using Kubernetes, ArgoCD, and observability tooling.

You will mentor engineers, participate in Agile ceremonies, and help shape our DX platform for mortgage processing solutions. A strong background in CI/CD, TDD/BDD, and cloud-native stacks is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in software engineering or SRE.
• 10+ years in software engineering or SRE roles.
• Experience with Java or React, Kubernetes, and cloud-native tech.
• Experience developing React (TypeScript) front-end apps.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Provides full-stack Java design and development for apps with cloud-native infrastructure.
• Develops React front-end features with a UX team for responsive apps.
• Designs and builds APIs to support front-end functionality.
• Implements GitOps with ArgoCD for IaC and CI/CD pipelines.
• Builds monitoring/observability with Prometheus/Grafana/Jaeger/OpenTelemetry.
• Manages service mesh like Istio and Kiali for traffic and observability.
• Uses Crossplane for cloud infra via Kubernetes.
• Participates in SDLC design ceremonies and technical requirement reviews.
• Develops and reviews test protocols with emphasis on automated tests.
• Mentors engineers and stays current with web/DevOps standards.
