Job summary

MTSI in Huntsville, AL, seeks a Principal Software Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency Next Generation Software Office, accelerating the development, integration, and delivery of resilient and secure Missile Defense System software.

The role requires an active Secret clearance, a master's degree in a STEM field, and 12+ years of missile defense or large DoD program experience, with strong cloud, HWIL, and API expertise.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a STEM field with 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other large DoD program/project.
• Experience designing, developing, and managing software libraries and cloud-based architectures.
• Experience in hardware-in-the-loop and cloud-based testing to support software development and delivery.
• Experience in API/interface control documents and enabling software in Cloud-based and HWIL environments.
• Experience in AI development and tooling and agentic operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and engineering analysis to support development of on-demand and cloud-based software for system of system development, integration, and testing.
