Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group is seeking a Principal Software Engineer for Emerging Technology & AI with a remote-first model across the United States (excluding certain states). You will design rapid prototypes, evaluate platforms, and mentor engineers, delivering scalable solutions for delivery teams.

The role demands extensive software engineering experience, cloud-native expertise, and the ability to translate complex opportunities into concrete experiments and enterprise-ready designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, technology, or a related field and 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Experience with cloud-native services and architectures (compute, storage, database) across AWS/GCP/Azure
• Proven ability to design, prototype, and lead experiments from concept to implementation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design of proofs-of-concept, prototypes, and pilots across multiple technologies and platforms.
• Provide advanced technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and partner teams.
• Evaluate APIs, cloud services, AI platforms, data sources, and emerging frameworks through hands-on testing.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, and Delivery teams to guide enterprise adoption.
