Job summary

Outmarket AI is seeking a Principal Engineer to set the technical direction for our AI-native insurance platform. You will own architecture and strategy, and act as a force multiplier across AI, data, infrastructure, and product teams.

You will collaborate directly with founders, shape long-term technical vision, and mentor engineers, all while maintaining a remote-first, fast-moving culture that ships rapidly.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering with org-wide leadership.
• Mastery of system design and architecture at scale.
• Proven track record of high-stakes technical bets.
• Exceptional judgment and communication to align teams.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and technical strategy across AI, data, infra, and product.
• Drive the most consequential and ambiguous technical decisions to resolution.
• Establish engineering principles and standards adopted org-wide.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers and elevate the whole team’s technical judgment.
