Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer Principal to shape the architecture behind our customer-facing experiences on homedepot.com. You will set technical direction across multiple product teams, partner with UX and Product, and drive AI-enabled features from design to production.

You will create reusable code, diagrams, and documentation, define service level objectives, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring security, reliability, and high performance across large-scale systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Mastery of Java and modern programming languages (Python/JavaScript/TypeScript).
• Experience with web frameworks (Spring Boot, Node.js) and microservices.
• Experience designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs, AI/LLM integration a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shaping architecture for customer-facing experiences across homedepot.com.
