Job summary

Mastercard is seeking a Principal Software Engineer (Architecture) to lead architectural strategy for a global virtual card management platform. You will drive engineering excellence, scale delivery, and mentor high-performing teams while aligning technology with business goals.

You will design systems that scale to global markets, ensure security by design, and collaborate with product, enterprise functions, and regional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.

Qualifications

• Broad experience as a Software Engineer / Full Stack Developer.
• In-depth knowledge of Java, Spring framework, persistence and messaging technologies, and testing methodologies and tools.
• In-depth knowledge of Public Cloud platforms, containers and container orchestration.
• Good working knowledge of cryptography functions and PKI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Drive architecture & design of software systems and applications.
• Collaborate with product teams to understand requirements, identify solutions, and provide technical leadership.
• Lead architecture collaboration across engineering, product management, and regional teams.
• Mentor teams and ensure delivery of complex software solutions with a focus on security and operability.
