Job summary

Intuit is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to steer long-term technical direction and lead AI-native transformations across business units. You will anticipate problems, design scalable systems, and guide AI integration into production software.

You will mentor technical leaders, align executives, and drive critical architectural decisions while maintaining high standards for security and maintainability in a global product platform.

Qualifications

• 12+ years developing systems and software for large scale business environments.
• 8+ years designing complex distributed systems, platforms, or business applications.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI into production software, ideally driving AI projects standalone with commoditized AI tools and agentic workflows.
• Experience modernizing systems toward AI-native patterns; experience driving AI architectural decisions across multiple teams a plus.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Track record of influencing technical strategy across business units and aligning executives.
• Strong mentor; able to develop technical leaders and shape engineering culture.
• Excellent communicator; makes decisive technical calls in ambiguity.

• Identify, champion, and integrate industry-leading or new technologies that create competitive advantage
• Set engineering standards for quality, security, and maintainability that others adopt
• Align stakeholders across teams and business units; drive execution and unblock delivery
• Coach technical leaders; advise senior leadership on team structure and engineering practices
